After winter ends and summer begins there’s a brief period that symbolizes rebirth, and happiness in the liveliest way; the fleeting season of spring. Trees shed their old and tired leaves and make space for new buds. On the auspicious day of Basant Panchami, as the first rays of dawn shine on the mustard blooms, nature takes a pause to admire her own incomparable beauty. A smile brightens the farmer’s face, as his field bursts with a ripening crop. The fragrant yellow mustard flowers under the clear blue sky signal that the dreary winter nights of hunger and cold are over. And the weather is neither too cold, nor too hot, it’s just right!

शीत ऋतु कि विदाई और गर्मी कि आहट के बीच एक ऐसा मौसम आता है, जिसे बंसत ऋतु के नाम से जाना जाता है. वनस्पति की पतझड़ के साथ शुरू होने वाली इस ऋतु का अपने आपमें कई मायनों में विशेष महत्व है. बंसत पंचमी के सूर्य कि पहली किरण जैसे ही सरसों के पीले खेतों पर अपनी लालिमा बिखेरती है. तो मानो ऐसा लगता है कि सारी कायनात की सुंदरता एक पल के लिए ठहर सी गई हो.

दरअसल, जब खेत खलियान लहलाह उठें और किसानों के चेहरे खिल उठे तो यह साफ हो जाता है कि बसंत ऋतु का आगमन हो गया है. पृथ्वी ने मानों अपने आप को पीले वस्त्रों में ढक लिया है. वनस्पति हो या पक्षी, या फिर इंसान, हर कोई पीले रंग में रंग कर इस अनूठी ऋतु का स्वागत कर रहा है.
